Alayah Nguyen is an honor student at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina.  She will graduate in May 2021 with her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science and a minor in Nutrition.  After graduation, Alayah plans to further her education and obtain her Doctorate in Physical Therapy.

Alayah is no stranger to the pageant and modeling world.  She has done both print and runway modeling for several national and international designers, including Marc Defang and Pixton Design Group. Alayah has been competing in pageants since she was 6 years old and has held numerous titles including World’s Perfect Fashionista, Miss Teen North Carolina United States, Jr. Teen and Teen Miss Mint Hill, International Fresh Faces Ultimate Grand Supreme and National Spokesmodel, Junior Miss Cabarrus County Fair, Majestic Miss Mecklenburg County, America’s Perfect Dancer, Miss Jr. Teen Charlotte United States, and Carolina’s Next Top Model.

Alayah enjoys competing but loves giving back to the community even more.  She is a five time gold President’s Volunteer Service Award recipient and also earned the Martin Luther King Jr. Drum Major for Service Award for her commitment to service.  Her platform is Bright Blessings, a non-profit organization that brings joy, care, and hope to homeless and impoverished children in the community. She has spent countless hours organizing collections and volunteering for the organization. Her favorite part is organizing the monthly birthday parties for the local children’s homes. Alayah is also the ambassador for Cindy’s Hope Chest, an organization that helps women who are battling Breast Cancer, a Jr. Coach for Carolina’s Exceptional Youth Athletes, a cheer team for special needs children, and volunteers at several other organizations including the Ronald McDonald House, Union County Adopt-a-Cop, and Common Heart.

Alayah strives to show others that being a pageant queen is about more than just wearing a crown; it is about being involved and making a difference. She works hard to show others that there is always a volunteer opportunity doing something they are passionate about and encourages them to get involved.
