Jessica VanGaalen started competing in pageants 5 years ago at age 24 to prove that you’re never too old to try something new or follow your dreams. This tomboy (who grew up poor) didn’t think she’d enjoy pageantry or that she’d fit in, but after her first competition, she was hooked. Over the past 5 years, Jessica has held 5 national titles and she’s competed internationally 5 times (Egypt, Ecuador, Philippines, Poland and USA). Jessica is currently a model in Los Angeles, but she also has her own online boutique, photography business and she’s a manager in the hospitality industry. She strongly believes that anything is possible if you work hard enough and that you don’t have to be a victim of your environment or past. As a rape and abuse survivor, Jessica makes it a point in her life to constantly do better and to prove to herself and society that YOU ARE WORTHY and NOTHING should hold you back from fulfilling your potential. This beauty queen even got a full ride academic scholarship to University where she graduated early with Magna Cume Laude honors; she lived in Australia for two years, has traveled to 24 countries, has her own business and has held multiple prestigious pageant titles. Over the course of her reign, Jessica hopes to bring more awareness to her platform “Futures Without Violence” and to have real discussions about what’s going on in the world.
