Hello, my
name is Alison Tripple and I am America’s Miss 2010. I am honored to
represent such an incredible pageant organization and I am looking forward
to the opportunities and blessings this title will offer me. I am a 21 year
old senior at Towson University. I am a dual major in the Elementary
Education and Special Education department at Towson. I plan to receive a
Masters Degree in education after I graduate next Spring and I am excited to
begin my career as a teacher. At Towson, I am a part of the Student
Education Associate (SEA) and also an active member of Kappa Delta Pi which
is an honors fraternity for education majors. In addition to the SEA chapter
at Towson University, I am also a member of the National Education
Association for Teachers. I want to thank my family, especially my mom, for
everything they have done to help me get to where I am today. I owe much of
my success to my family and friends and they are my life.
Outside
of school I love to spend every extra moment I have dancing. I have been
dancing since I was 5 years old and have continued to do so throughout
college. I have had the opportunity to win a national championship at the
NDA Collegiate Nationals in Daytona, Florida with the Towson University
Dance Team, tour the country with Starpower National Talent Competition,
compete with LEDC for 10 years, dance in Italy at the International Dance
Challenge, coach various dance teams throughout Maryland including
Archbishop Spalding High School, and choreograph for Inferno Dance. I am
lucky to have had the dance experiences I have made throughout my life and
I plan to continue my dance education and career for a long time to come.
Before
I was crowned America’s Miss 2010 I proudly represented the state of
Maryland as America’s Miss Maryland 2010. I had the exciting chance to
meet Joe Flacco from the Baltimore Ravens, raise money for the 2010
Special Olympics, take the polar bear plunge, read to students, talk to
girl scouts, participate in fundraisers for; the Special Olympics 2010 and
Maryland’s Healthcare for the Homeless. I have worked closely with the
Maryland School for the Blind, visited soldiers at Walter Reed Memorial
Hospital and had the opportunity to tour the Maryland Preakness. These
organizations and community events have allowed me to meet so many new
people and become better familiar with the state of Maryland. With a new
national title, I look forward to the new opportunities that will become a
part of my life. I am excited to work with the Starlight Children's
Foundation and also to continually help with fundraisers and events for
the Maryland Special Olympics for 2011.
